Syncing music ripped from a CD into Itunes and adding it to an Iphone

My mom has a Ipod and itunes on her computer. She has recently purchased an Iphone and would like to transfer her music from Itunes to her Iphone. The purchased music from itunes automatically synced however, I am wondering if it is possible to also sync the music from itunes that was ripped from a CD?
