Homepod not working after Applecare said they repaired it. Volume controls flashing

Has anyone had this issue fixed?

  1. The volume controls (plus and minus symbols) keep flashing.
  2. The homepod will not reset.

a) I did the process perfectly before speaking to an Apple rep on the phone; after speaking to Apple rep on phone before sending it in, and when I received the product back from Apple in which it immediately did exactly what I sent it in for: flashing volume controls lights ( "+" "-" ).


Why didn't they just send me a new one? I was going to buy a second one until this fiasco. Certainly, things will need to be fixed once in a while but I waited a long time to get get it back and I was told on the phone it was fixed plus the letter said they ran diagnostics on the unit passed.
