Why does it take almost 10 hours to download WatchOS 5.3.8?

I bought Apple Watch Series 4. I am trying to pair it to my phone Model 7S. When connecting to watch it said that it has to update the OS in the watch. Download is going on for over 4 hours now and it says another 4 hours to go. Does it take this long to update the latest software in the watch?

How long it will take to download is based on the speed of your network, the speed of your Internet connection, and the speed of the connection between you and Apple's servers.

If it's progressing, just let it go. The last thing you want to do is interrupt it and have it start over from the beginning.
