I am trying to update my apple watch series 3 to watchos 6 with my Iphone 7. The Iphone is running ios 13.1. Each time I try to update it says watchos 5.3.1 Your software is up to date. I have tried re-setting the watch but to no avail. My serie 4 watch paired to Iphone xr updated to watchos 6 without a problem. Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks for your reply. Yes it is a series 3 and, as usual, just 20 minutes after I posted the update finally showed up on the Iphone!!! Why it took so long I have no idea, but all is working fine now.

Are you sure you have a Series 3, because
Series 1 & 2 watchOS 6 upgrade delayed till later this year (2019)
My Apple Watch s3 will not update to os6.
