I used a SANDISK CRUZER as the backup device with Time Machine. When it's done, Should its icon be moved to the trash icon?

I use a SANDISK CRUZER as the backup devive with Time Machine. When it's done, may I remove the device? Should its icon be moved to the trash icon?

Yes you may remove the device however remove it properly by RIGHT CLICKING on the icon and choosing EJECT DEVICE.

The icon will disappear, once your eject the device, however will NOT be in the trash bucket.
