Hey Wgoranson433!
It appears your iPhone has static sounds on the built-in speaker. We've got your back!
If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker goes over some good steps. To isolate this further, does this only happen on cellular calls or any type of audio calls? You could test out an audio call using a third-party app to be sure.
Does it help to turn off Bluetooth in Settings > Bluetooth? As some connected devices may cause issues when paired but not being used during the call.
If you've tried all of these steps, the last thing we'd test is restoring to factory settings. To accomplish this, create or update your backup with anything important you'd need: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch then use a computer to restore back to factory settings: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings
You'd want to set it up as new and test it out. If the issue persists, then it's likely the iPhone would need to be inspected further by an Apple Technician. If the issue is solved, then you can attempt to restore the backup and test it once more: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup In case the issue returns with the backup data, then we know the issue is within that data and not a hardware issue. You may need to restore to factory settings once more and start as new to get the device back in working order.
Should you need to get the iPhone inspected, this can help prepare you for that appointment: Get your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch ready for service And you can use our link here to search nearby and check into available appointments: Find Locations Due to the current conditions, we'd recommend booking an appointment instead of walking in.
Wishing you the best!
