difficulty in signing in i message

Have difficulty signing in I message although I have gone through all procedures. Had no problem before and all messages incoming and outgoing were functioning very well and were instantly recorded either way to my I phone as well. Now any messages incoming or outgoing from my I phone are not recorded to my I pad. Can anyone help? Thank you
