Every webpage opened on Safari on MacBook Pro appears on iPhone as different websites and doesn’t close when closed on MacBook

I have Handoff enabled on my iPhone/MacBook Pro, and instead of websites closing on phone when they would be closed on the laptop, all of them stay open, and appear under a new name for my MacBook. I think different clusters of open websites are from different sessions of browsing - a bunch of sites one day, one sites another day etc. It’s really annoying closing them one by one cause I have ocd.

Have you tried turning Safari syncing off on the phone, clearing history using the below, restarting, and turning the sync back on. Allow time for the sync to complete.

Try double clicking the Home button or swipe up from the bottom of the screen and swipe Safari upwards. Go to Settings/Safari and clear History and Website Data. Open Safari and test.

Safari - Clear the history and cookies on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Safari website data on your iPhone or iPad - How to clear.
