I don’t get the “name” option on my list of Bluetooth devices

On my iPhone XR, Bluetooth devices are listed with very unhelpful names. Echo RM-617 for example. How do I change the name to something human, like “Bedroom Echo”?

Keeping in mind that not all manufacturers let you rename the BT accessory, see this article:--> Change the name of a Bluetooth accessory - Apple Support

It seems even Apple don't allow their devices to be renamed! None of the 7 or 8 devices can be renamed, which is a pain! But given what else is going on in the world, it's not an issue!
