There's no need to register your device for AppleCare (standard 1 year warranty). As soon as you create your Apple ID that device is automatically registered.

If you mean "AppleCare Plus Protection Plan", you have 60 days from the date of purchase to buy that plan, as per this support article:--> AppleCare Products - iPad - Apple
