Trim not visible on Quick Time
I have opened a mov file. Clicked on Edit. "Trim" is greyed out!?!

This video was one of a series of .mov videos I was trimming. They were all rather heavy files (over 5GB) and I think the problem was that one of them had not quite finished uploading to my cloud drive.
In any case, I tried again the next morning and everything was fine!

Thanks for your post! We understand the 'Trim' option is greyed out. Do you know what the source file format is? If you haven't already, try closing QuickTime, then restarting your machine.

After, try trimming the movie again.
