Two toned screen

Hi, I’ve my i phone xs max screen suddenly has a two tones. As in the left side of the screen appears to be a bit darker than the right side & there’s a visible dividing line right at the center. I don’t know how it happened & what I should fo to fix it. Also I’ve recently updated to ios 13.6 (thinking maybe it’s because of that since that’s the only change that’s happened) & haven’t dropped or damaged my phone in any way so this sudden issue is really annoying me.

Hello roo160,

We understand that recently your iPhone screen has been divided by a line, and the right side is darker. That must really get in the way of enjoying your iPhone, so we want to help.

It does sound like it might be a hardware issue with the display, but since you noticed it after a software update, we recommend following the steps here to restore your iPhone with a computer and set up as new to test the issue: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

You will want to make a backup before restoring, which is also covered in that resource.

If the issues seems fixed after setting up as new, you can then restore your iPhone from a backup: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup
