Screen won’t turn off

Hi, I recently had my 12” MacBook screen replaced and now when I shut the lid it doesn’t turn off? I put it to sleep and shutting the lid turns it back on. Also not sure if related but battery states 13 hrs 30 mins left of battery time, it’s never read that high? At most 9 hrs? Is this hardware or software related?
