Can't re-enter my GMail password! Settings > Mail > Gmail: tap the "Re-enter Password"

Hi All,

I recently

had to change my gmail password (as one should every now and then) and had a

problem with resetting my iPhone email password. This problem with re-entering

the email password at the demand of  the gmail

account/app seem to be a recurring problem after doing a few searches on the

internet. So for those that have ever been wondering why this is such a

problem, here's a quick solution that worked for me.

When you get

the “Could not open the page, too many redirects.” when attempting to change

the password, do this first :

1. Go to your iPhone Safari
2. settings and make sure you're not blocking cookies and preventing
3. cross-site tracking. So disable these ... you can always re-enable them
4. later if you wish.
5. Also scroll down to Advanced
6. and select Website Data. You may need to clear it.
7. Once you have done this, then
8. you can reenter the password for gmail. The safari page will pop up, you
9. enter your user account and then your password for gmail, voilà  Your email will work again !
