My computer monitor stays black but I can hear the sounds of start up
and when hitting keys. How can I fix this?
When I turn it on, I hear the startup jingle music, and with a flashlight can see a faint apply logo in the middle of the screen, but no other items on the desktop. When I turn off holding the power button, the apple logo goes away.
OK...upon further investigation, I had the login screen, could type in my login, and see the Desktop...had to look very closely with the flashlight. So...that tells me the computer is working, but having a display/brightness issue. Tried the brightness keys to no avail. Does that help?
Yes, that is a god sign, but you still need the backlight fixed, or an external Monitor.
Use a Flashlight up close at various angles, do you see a faint Desktop?
You'll have to have it looked at, at the very least it sounds like the backlight is shot, but stopping at the Apple Logo is a sign of further problems.
Making any headway?
