Why was I charged by an app if my Apple invoice history reads “0” for that certain app?

Many apps are free to download but then have a subscription (recurring) charge after a short (sometimes very short) free trial period. You can check for and cancel subscriptions by using the following instructions: See or cancel your subscriptions - Apple Support
