Backing up IPhone 7 to computer using ITunes

I'm trying to backup my IPhone to my computer because my phone is useless because it says I have insufficient storage.

I have done all types of research and spent a ton of time on this. Looks like it is because of Other Storage is 17.4 gigs. Watched all kinds of videos that say to back up and then restore the IPhone.

Instructions I have say to Connect phone to computer, open Itunes, Click IPhone button :

There is no IPhone button on ITunes. It is just Library. This is so hard. Can anyone please help.

If you have Windows or a Mac with OS 10.13 or older you may need to update iTunes to the latest version. You should get it from https://apple.com/itunes, not from the Microsoft store if you have Windows.

Thanks so much for responding Lawrence.

That icon does not appear on my Itunes. Making me wonder whether my computer/ITunes is recognizing my phone. The cord I use charges my phone on the wall and I check my USB slot on my computer which recognizes my thumbdrive.

Any thoughts ? Thank you in advance.

Hi Lawrence thank you again.

I've been checking my updates. My Itunes i version 12.10.7.3 and I just completed an install of Windows 10 latest. I am assuming I need to restart my computer although it did not tell me to.

When I clicked on the link to apple you sent me above it went directly to Microsoft Store for some reason.

Hoping I can find this thread after I restart. Thank you again. Michael

You can also back up to iCloud. You may have to spend 99¢ to upgrade your iCloud storage to 50 GB.
