iphone not responding to touch

my iphone 6 was not responding to touch. I restarted multiple times but only a couple of touches would work until it stopped responding. I removed the case and it is working. I do not understand why the case would prevent touch?

Maybe the case is making contact with the screen.

Get a different case.

Thanks. My daughter suggested maybe humidity or dampness in the case caused it. Humidity is very high right now.
