Apple TV - Free Subscription

Received acknowledgement of 12 month free subscription to Apple TV. Although, once logged in, it appears I still have to pay to watch programs. What needs to be done? I have tried logging off and re-entering my Apple credentials & passcodes (several times).

Nothing. The subscription only covers Apple-original content.
