Question about different Apple TV remotes 4th generation

I've always been curious..why do some Apple TV (HD or 4K) 4th Generation, come with either a remote with a white circle around the Menu button or no white circle around the Menu button? Thanks for any help.

Cheers!

Apple TV HD, 13

The remote with the white circle around the Menu button is a newer version of the remote. It was thought an improvement to find the Menu button easier in low light conditions, as well as having a tactile difference to know the right side up.

Both models remote work the same.

The Apple TV 4K ships with the newer model. The Apple TV HD (4th generation) has been seen with either model remote.
