ITunes v Apple Music

What is the difference between iTunes and Apple Music? I currently use iTunes, if I start using Apple Music would I loose my iTune purchases? And can my music be used across my MacBook, iPad Pro and iPhone?

Hi,

Itunes is a free app that allows you play and manage your own music. Apple Music is a subscription service that allows you access to music on Apple’s servers. Join Apple Music on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC - Apple Support. You don’t lose your purchased music and to can still purchase tracks from iTunes Store.

You can share this with your other devices.
