MacBook Air security software

Hi ,

I have MacBook Air and it runs macOS Catalina 10.15.6

I have spent some time reading posts here and still not sure if I should instal any antivirus software or not.

As to this moment I use ESET but constantly have problems with using safari and also getting messages that it might not be compatible soon.

So does Mac need any antivirus or not ,because it is confusing.

I am not very good in IT so please explain without to many technical details.
