How do I adjust Table column width or row height in Apple Notes?

When I create Table in a Note, it is very easy to add, delete, or move rows and columns. But it does a terrible job of setting the width of columns. It seems to just select some average width and make all columns the same width. Since most of the tables I work with have a mixture of text descriptions and numeric or identifiers that are typically short, I end up with tall rows of wrapped text and mostly empty cells with 1 digit in them - which is terribly inefficient use of screen acreage.

So, is there some way to manually adjust the width of a column and/or height of a row?

My searches on this have turned up nothing so far. So, Apple, if this capability is truly missing from Notes.app then please consider this to be a feature request.
