Yes -- you can update to High Sierra. That is later than Yosemite and later than El Capitan. Click on the following and read the instructions: How to upgrade to macOS High Sierra - Apple Support

10.10 Yosemite

10.13 High Sierra
10.14 Mojave (not compatible with your Mac)
