My contacts won't restore from archive. I can see the archive, it says "restored", but nothing happens!

Okay, so- I noticed a quarter of my contacts disappeared in Contacts and iMessage after I deleted an inactive email account in Mail. (Which happens to be the same as my Apple ID). So I am trying to restore from iCloud, and everything seems in order. I get the confirmation of restoring my contacts on the browser and all...but nothing restores. Help?
