iTunes

When I first got my phone I used my godmothers Apple ID for her iTunes so I can have music on my phone. I recently decided I no longer want that and switched over to my Apple ID and now I’m having problems with iTunes and my phone and just really want to fix it without having to go back to using my godmothers account.

What problems are you having?


Purchases are tied to one Apple ID, if you change your Apple ID you

  • Will need to download all apps again including free apps as you will no longer be able to update an app on your new ID if you purchased it on the old Apple iD.

You might want to enable Family Sharing to share purchases so you don't have to buy apps again which you have before and can get more information here https://www.apple.com/family-sharing/

It would save you trouble in the future as it would mean you can update apps. Right now any app updates wont be possible if you installed them on one Apple ID and you are now using another.


Please do look at setting up Family Sharing in the link above as it does allow you to share purchases meaning you won’t have to pay to buy certain apps again.
