Is there a way to hide paid content in the Apple TV app?

Is there a way to hide paid content in the Apple TV app? We thought we'd give Apple TV+ a try, but the experience is painful. The Apple TV app makes it look like there's all this content available, but I feel like every other click is for a rental, purchase or subscription. Is there a way to use the Apple TV app to just view the content we have available to us? It's annoying enough for me (parent), but for the kids, everything they seem to click on isn't available to them without some form of payment.

Thanks,

Kristin.

Totally understand. I was still hoping there was a way for the Apple TV app itself to only display content that I have access to (without without showing content that ends up being a purchase). I love the idea of all my 3rd party content being aggregated into a single app (for us, Disney+, Prime, CBC GEM, etc.); but, it's just the endless paid content being shoved in there that make it such a terrible experience. If I want to purchase a TV show or movie from the iTunes store, I'd use the dedicated apps that Apple already provides for that. And if I wanted to subscribe to Starz, CBS All Access or some other streaming service, I would. And then I'd be more than happy for that content to show. But endlessly forcing this paid content into the feed just ends up making the entire experience of the TV app terrible. I mean, I know why Apple does this, but was just hoping there was a way to only show the content I pay for without all the rest.

Anyway, obviously not going to change how this works, so we'll just continue to use the dedicated apps and will let the free trial expire on Apple TV+.

Thanks again,

Kristin.

No, no way to hide paid content. Apple TV+ is Apple's exclusive streaming service. Launch the Apple TV app->Watch Now->Apple TV Channels->select the Apple TV+ icon. Anything you find in the Apple TV+ channel is part of your Apple TV+ subscription.

Apple TV (the hardware, the box)

Apple TV App (a database, an aggregator of content available on the Apple TV, not part of the Apple TV+ subscription)

Apple TV+ (Apple's steaming service, accessible through the Apple TV App)

Don't get frustrated by the three Apple TV icons. Your subscription covers Apple TV+ content and nothing else. You don't get free access to content from other services like Netflix, Hulu, etc., or even Apple Movies and TV shows.
