USB detected in device tree but not showing up in Finder/Disk Utility

Hi all! I’ve tried several options to fix this issue. I checked the Finder preferences to make the external device visible but it’s still not showing up on Finder. It’s not making any weird noises or anything like that but it’s strange that it’s showing up on device tree but can’t access the files. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

Hi theboychild,

Looks like a USB device isn't showing up properly in Finder, you can use these steps, If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod.

If it's not an iOS device, let us know what USB device you're using.

It's also good to make sure the macOS is up to date. This link shows, how to update the software on your Mac.
