AirPods won't show up in Find My iPhone?

I lost my airpods and they're just not showing up in find my iPhone. There's no device listed, no last location it's like I never owned them. They have showed up before cause I've used the app to check where they are but now nothing. Does that mean someones stolen them and reset them to their phone? I have no idea

Hello,

If your AirPods are out of Bluetooth range, out of charge, or in the case with the cover closed, Find My won't give a current location. You just have to find them manually by looking for them. However, Find My may list the most recent location where they were last connected.

Good luck.
