Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! We understand that you are having an issue activating your device due to the activation server not being able to be reached. We are more than happy to help you out with this.
For this, we recommend following the following steps and attempting activation after each step:
- Restart your device by turning it off and then on
- Connect the device to a computer that has the latest version of iTunes on it (Update to the latest version of iTunes) and attempt activation
- If you have a SIM card inside of the device, remove it and try again
- If the issue persists, restore the device via recovery mode (If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch)
