How can I prevent my display from dimming when I cover the camera on my MacBook Air?

I think the title of my post says it all :) But, maybe it's useful to add that I have an early 2015 model, running Mojave 10.14.6. Copying the version number w/ command C brings this up, though I don't know what it designates: (18G2022).

While I'm at it, maybe I can ask if it's possible to turn off the update notification. I have no intention of updating to the newest version, so I've been clicking 'Remind me tomorrow' every day for a long time, and would rather not see the notification, but don't know how to turn it off.

Thanks very much :)

Mojave 10.14.6 is now at (18G6020) so you have not applied all of the Mojave specific updates yet. These will appear below the Catalina entry in your System Preferences : Software Update panel.

I believe, as does BobTheFisherman, that the perfect place for a light sensor is in the camera opening, and see no means to prevent the display from dimming as you describe.
