Internal speaker not working

HELP!! The internal speaker on my MacBook Pro stopped working after the last update ran. I am told i have to bring the machine in for service but none of the authorized repair places have any availability due to COVID. Anybody got any suggestions? Apple support has not been able to help with the issue.
