Sleep wake problem on Macbook Pro

My Macbook Pro was recently upgraded to Catalina. Since then, I have a problem that my system doesn't wake from sleep, if I leave it for a while without working. I have to press the power button to force shut down and then start again. It shows the error report as 'Power button pressed during wake transition after **** ms' every time I re-login. I am not sure what is the issue and how to fix this. Any suggestions would be appreciable !!!

I understand your Mac will sleep ok, but it's not waking up normally, leaving you with no choice other than to force it to shut down.

The suggestions in If your Mac doesn't sleep or wake when expected - Apple Support are applicable, in particular those under "If the previous steps don't work." Try that.
