Storage and messages problem

I am about to factory reset my iPad because of a storage problem with the Other category (as it takes up 16GB+ of the space on the iPad) and I backed up my messages onto the cloud and now my messages on my iPhone are merged with my iPad. But when I was about to back up all of my other data, I couldn’t fit it all in my cloud so I deleted the messages from the cloud and for some reason the messages are still on my iPhone. So I’m wondering when I do reset my iPad if the messages that are merged with my iPhone stay put or be deleted with the rest of my IPad?
