So I have a new mac and so I also have a free year of Apple TV, but it doesn't work. If I click on the link I got sent by Apple, Apple TV opens but nothing else. I read everything, nothing works. Only thing I can do is a free 7 day trial.

In the Watch Now Tab try just going to the tv+ section. See image. Click on it to see if that brings it up. This was how I had to do it. If it only shows the 7 day trial, it’s not working and you will need to Contact Support. Make sure you’re signed in, it can’t work if you’re not signed in, using the same Apple ID you activated the new device with. In a browser the sign in is top right of the page., in the TV App your profile is top right in the Watch Now Tab or on a Mac - Accounts at the top of your screen. If you are signed in, sign out then sign back in

Accepting the 7 day trial may exclude you from the year offer, so don’t do that yet.

Verify that you meet the requirements to qualify.
If you qualify, and if you did as described in the guide, and you still do not get to see the year offer, then contact Apple Support. They can assist in getting you the service, if needed using activation codes.
Try doing it on a browser at tv.apple.com & sign in.
Offer is good within 90 days from when you activated the new device
Was this a recent purchase? If it had been bought previously then the offer would have only been valid for the 3 months after device activation.
The receipt is needed for validation when contacting support. Did you not get a receipt or you just can't find it? Where was the Mac purchased from?

It was a recent purchase and I tried it in my browser. It really doesn't work :(
I am of course signed in. I contacted the support, but they can't help without the receipt which I don't have. I just have the mail i received some days ago that I could now activate my free trial.
