I think that you are using two different Apple IDs - one on your old iPhone (at your last job) and the other one on your current iPhone.
If this is true, then you cannot switch the storage plan from one Apple ID to another one.
However, you could try one of the following 3 options: Please BACK-UP data on both devices (your old iPhone and your current one, before attempting any of this) How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
- Use the Apple ID from your old iPhone on your current iPhone. (This will cause any data associated with your Apple ID on your current iPhone to revert to the one on your old iPhone ...unless it gets merged with the old Apple ID, so I would not recommend that you do this without backing up all your data first)
- Activate Family Sharing for iCloud, and have both Apple IDs share iCloud Storage space. But to do this, you would have to upgrade your iCloud Storage Plan to at least the next tier (200GB for $2.99 per month) Read: Share an iCloud storage plan with your family - Apple Support
- Downgrade your iCloud Storage for your old Apple ID (it will revert to the free 5GB capacity from the 50GB that you are currently paying for). Read: Downgrade your iCloud storage - Apple Support And then you could purchase 50GB iCloud storage for your current Apple ID. The result would be that you pay $0.99 but for storage on the ID that you want (it is the switch you are looking for.)
Personal recommendation: option 3
