What does “short code” mean exactly? Is this something sent regarding your cellular carrier?
Might you actually be talking about Apple’s verification code? If so:

Yeah it’s like that but from say a bank account or another website or verifying your phone number for something else it’s supposed to send you a 6 digit code my phone never receives them
