iPhone incoming calls with no sound or microphone

Recently when I get an incoming call and answer it there is no sound or microphone but when I make an outbound call to the same person it works.

why does this happen?
how do I fix it?

If you have distorted Sound issue on your iPhone --> If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad

I have tried all of the above and still not working. There is only no sound or microphone on inbound calls. Outbound is totally fine
