Epson Perfection 4180 Photo Scanner on new iMac doesn't work? Tried to download the new driver, but still no luck. Any suggestions?

Trying to get my Epson Perfection 4180 Photo Scanner to work with my new iMac 27. When I went to the Epson site and found that machine, I downloaded the driver that it offered (only 1) and nothing seemed to change. Still have the circle with the line going thru the app. Any suggestions?

Mac OS 10.13 does not run on new Macs, please verify which version of Mac OS is installed on the computer. If you are running Catalina (10.15.x) that will only run 64 bit applications. Please check with Epson to see if their drivers support Catalina 10.15.x, if they do not, please use Image Capture to do your scanning. Image Capture is already pre-installed on your computer. You can learn about IC in https://support.apple.com/guide/image-capture/scan-images-imgcp1004/mac

Epson only provides an Oct 2019 release of their ICA Scanner Driver v5.8.7 for Image Capture for this device. That was very early in the Catalina product cycle, and may not work now, or strictly in concert with Apple's Image Capture. That Adobe ICC installer is from 2010 and definitely a 32-bit application, which is unsupported on Catalina.

The third-party, paid, 64-bit VueScan product requires that you have an Epson scanner driver installed before it can be used. Unclear if the ICA driver for Image Capture is the real driver that VueScan requires.

Thanks rkaufmann87 for your quick reply. Although, I'm not sure it helped. My new mac is running OS 10.15.6 and according to Epson's website, it seems to be compatible. I downloaded the driver that it offered and seemed successful, but it also offered me an option to download Adobe ICC Profiles v1.3.1 which when I double clicked the icon on my desktop, I got the circle with slash line through it. Do I need that to run the scanner? And if so, how do I make it clickable.? epson14120.dmg is the name of the file I am having the problem with.
