Mac 10.15.6 update issue

My MacBook Pro has been experiencing a new issue since updating last week to the new Catalina 10.15.6.

Whenever Mail is open, the fan runs constantly and drains the battery. Mail has also been slow to update my inboxes and will moved read and deleted messages back to the inbox as unread (iCloud email account only).

Any suggestions for fixing this? I can't not have Mail open, but I also don't want the fan running all the time and having to leave the computer plugged in.

You can try reinstalling the combo update on top of your existing macOS 10.15.6 to sort anomalies

It did not. When Mail is open, the fan is constantly running and draining the battery. I’m going to try reinstalling Catalina next.
