How can I prevent iBooks from syncing "certain pdf document"?

How can I prevent iBooks from syncing "certain pdf document"? Is there a way to keep documents and file in a certain location on my macbook air hard drive without iBook reaching to it?

Right now my iBooks is syncing certain pdf personal documents. I want these document to stay in my mac drive only.

You can't make Books sync only certain PDFs. If iCloud Drive is enabled for Books then the all PDFs that are in Books app will get synced do the cloud. If you don't want to sync PDFs to the cloud, then either:

  • Disable iCloud Drive for Books (Sys Preferences --> Apple ID --> iCloud Drive Options --> uncheck box next to Books).
  • Don't put the PDF into Books app. Just store the PDF wherever you want on your local hard drive and open it directly in Preview.
