I am trying to download MacOS 10.14 as necessary update for my CAD SW. But Mojave download from App Store says "this copy of macOS Mojave application is damaged and can't be used to install macOS.... any other official source ]from Apple?
Look in your Applications folder and see if another Mojave installer is present. If so, it is probably out of date, so delete it.
Do not use FireFox for the download. There are many reports here recenlty of FF failing to handle macOS downloads. Use Safari instead.

I just tried that... deleted old one in Applications dated sept 19, 2018. then successfully downloaded new install app dated sept 19, 2019... but when click to open I get same message: "this copy of the install macOS Mojave application is damaged and can't be used to install macOS." I did use Safari to download application.
Go to System Preferences → Date & Time, untick the box next to 'Set date ..... automatically' and change the year date to 2019. It's not common for Mojave misbehave like this but is a common fix for systems from 10.10 onwards to change the year to a date closer to when it was released.
Don't forget to change the Date & Time back after the install has finished otherwise your internet won't work properly.
