I cannot find the photos app on the doc on my mac book pro with Catalina OS. I have lightroom software for editing. I tried to upload pictures from a scandisk to my laptop but do not see the photos app. I am so confused. I have 35K+ pictures in my library. HELP

The Photos application is in your Application Folder.
The Photos library by default - that is unless you moved it - is in your Pictures Folder.
Why are you using Photos if you have Lightroom. It does most everything Photos does and a whole lot more?
I was able to locate the photos app. I think I must have arranged that it would go to lightroom when I launched photos. Very confused. I used to know this by heart. It has been few years since I took pictures with an SLR camera. Uploading, editing, organizing........must learn all over again with the new OS.
Trick number 1: if you're using Lightroom never use Photos. You'll just confuse yourself.
