folders disappeared

folders disappeared

folders disappeared from my desktop and the ones still there do not open. Also PDF does not open.

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

No. I held the shift key down at startup but it did not go to safe mode. I think that there are two keys to hold down to go into safe mode, but do not remember which.

No, just 1 key, are you using a Wired USB Keyboard? Often required for boot keys.

no luck. Your customer service once solved the problem by change the size in a dropdown menu on the left side of the document. Unfortunately, I do not remember how to access the dropdown menu.
