Alert sound problem on ESPN

I have a 2012 Mac Mini running Catalina. I have a problem in the ESPN fantasy football draft application on their website. Usually when it is your turn to draft there is a sound alert but I do not receive this alert when drafting on my mac. The sound will play when there is a commercial on the app but not when there is the alert telling me it is my turn. I believe the site uses Flash technology. The suggestions for addressing problems when using this site with a Mac do not work. Is there a way I can configure the preferences on my computer or on Safari that will allow me get these sound alerts?
