Frequent “update Apple ID settings” requests.

For the last few days, the ‘Update Apple ID Settings’ message has appeared frequently on my iPhone SE. I go through the rigmarole of updating it and all seems well, but within a few hours the warning returns. The only thing I’ve done differently is that I resurrected an old iPhone for my wife to use, wiped the iTunes account info and factory reset. Could it be something to do with that? Could it be that I’m getting the message every time my wife does something on her phone?

I think this is your problem, an updating Apple ID settings problem. Apple is aware of the problem.

Note that some have solved the problem by signing out of iCloud, restarting their devices, and signing back in

I suggest you use my search link (update apple id settings) in trying to solve your problem. You will see a number of links that are related to it (some deal with iPhone/iPads explicitly, and others are more general). Note that I have not seen a definitive solution for it. But, some links related to my search link claim fixes.
