Hi there Rippeddisc,
We see you're needing some help with IMDPersistenceAgent showing a high CPU amount being used.
This process is related normally to Messages that are being synced or using your Address book to index.
If you quit the process from within the Activity Monitor, it may restart, but does it still use the same amount of CPU usage? We'd like you to try that with the following steps: Quit an app or process in the Activity Monitor on Mac
If your Mac runs Slowly also has some great tips you can try for these types of issues.
We appreciate you visiting the Apple Support Communities!
Have a great rest of your day!

Thank you for the reply. Went ahead and killed the process. Interestingly enough my messages were hanging so when it was killed they pushed through. Will check in the future for it to pop up and repeat. Hopefully this bug can be fixed in the OS.
