Hi, Hope you are okay.

I understand that would would like to be able to receive messages on your MacBook Pro that come through from your iPhone?

Let's get this sorted for you.

As iMessage is a service that requires an internet connection, iMessages should come through on both your phone and MacBook if signed into the same Apple ID. An even better way to make this work, is to turn on "Messages in cloud" this will enable your iMessages to be uploaded and saved to the cloud, and then when any of your Apple devices such as your MacBook connect, the messages will sync across all of your devices and be available on them all. To turn on messages in cloud go onto your phone, Go to Settings>Press your name at the top>Press iCloud>and then switch on messages. You may see a little bar at the bottom of your iMessage application when open saying "Uploading to iCloud" this is basically all your messages syncing across your devices.

Once messages in cloud on your iPhone has been enabled head to you MacBook and:

  1. Open Messages.
  2. Click Messages in the menu bar and choose Preferences…
  3. Click the iMessage tab in the window.
  4. To the right of Enable Messages in iCloud, click Sync Now.
  5. Now in the bottom left corner of Messages, you'll see a status bar if there are messages to sync.

Please Note:

Having "iMessages in the cloud" Will use up iCloud storage. You can always turn this off at any time.
