Exactly the same happened when I was cleaning keys. Go into Accessibility - assistive touch - mouse keys - then press turn off. I haven't had the problem since. It is a weird combination you have entered on your keyboard whilst cleaning. That should work.

OMG Thank you so much. I had an Apple guy trying to help me over the phone and eventually he said to send the keyboard back and a new one was sent out. The new one was doing the same thing. This has resolved the issue for me. It was all after I’d bought the new 2020 27” iMac. $13.5k worth of computer. So so glad I saw this. Thanks again heaps. I too had to use my old alpha numeric USB keyboard up until now.

I have same problem but I cannot log onto my MacBook as one of the key that’s not working is also part of my password! I have a 2011 MacBook. This happened after I was cleaning the keyboard with a cloth and the laptop was on so I wonder if I had pressed some weird combinations while cleaning and now the keys mentioned above are not working. Please help!!
