windows itunes says my iphone has never been backed up
I'm trying to backup my iphone on windows itunes, but when the backup is complete it still indicates it was never backed up. When I go to the location I can see the backup.

So I deactivated the antivirus software, and it still did not work. It took me forever to figure out how to install the software directly from Apple instead of through the Microsoft Store, but eventually I did. I removed the microsoft store version, then installed using apple's installer. BAM! It instantly recognized my back up and I'm in business.
I'm not sure why the Apple website defaults install through the Microsoft Store, but I really wish it didn't.
